Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Comprehensive Care Center - CARES Foundation Center of Excellence

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Comprehensive Care Center

Patients with rare and complex diseases often require medical care from several specialty healthcare providers. The coordination of such care represents a challenge to the family. In recent years, the development of comprehensive care centers (CCCs) has dramatically improved outcomes and quality of life for children, adolescents and adults with chronic illnesses. The Congenital Adrenal hyperplasia Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Foundation, Inc., has designated several medical centers to serve as “medical homes” for the treatment of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) patients. These centers are staffed by experienced pediatric endocrinologists, medical endocrinologists, reproductive endocrinologists, pediatric urologists/surgeons, endocrine nurses, and mental health professionals. The goal of the Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York CAH Comprehensive Care Center is the creation of an environment focused on health and quality of life for patients with CAH and their families. Research, education, and advocacy are inherent parts of the CCC aimed at improving long-term outcomes. Our team is highly experienced with treating CAH and related disorders and will answer all your questions at your visit. If you or your child has been treated elsewhere, we ask that you forward your previous medical records to our attention before your visit. Please be advised that all patient information is held in strict confidentiality according to federal HIPAA regulations.
