The nurses Cohen Children's Medical Center treat every day as a journey of healing with hope and compassion. Our dedicated staff participates in the care management and educates patients and their families, to help achieve health and wellness across the continuum of care. The Cohen Children's Medical Center Department of Patient Care Services is comprised of registered nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, infection control nurses, nurse assistants, patient care associates, nursing case management, social workers, unit service clerks, unit receptionists, mental health workers, psychiatric aides, unit service assistants, and phlebotomy technicians, who collectively with the medical team provide premier care to our patients. Nurses and support staff care for more than 9,000 pediatric in-patient discharges annually in more than 8 subspecialty units. Additionally, they are paramount in the provision of care in more than 30 outpatient and pediatric specialty practices, including community consultation centers, an urgent care facility, and NYC public schools. Collaboratively with System EMS and the CCMC Medical Director, highly trained nursing staff coordinate and care for close to 3,000 patients being transported from area hospitals.
With over 45% of our bedside nurses certified by nationally accredited agencies we offer evidence-based clinical excellence paired with teamwork to offer our patients the best possible pediatric care in the region.

Cohen Children's Medical Center is a 202-bed tertiary care pediatric hospital that provides the most advanced and comprehensive health care for children, ranging from the low birth weight and high-risk neonates to the multifaceted needs of the adolescent population in the region
Cohen Children's Medical Center Nursing Education Department comprises registered nursed with advanced degrees with a unique combination of clinical expertise and creative energies. Educators are available from each specialty known to pediatric nursing including; pediatric intensive and emergency care, neonatal intensive care, pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant and acute care pediatrics. Our goal is to develop a pediatric nursing workforce that strives for excellence and seek the best evidence to care. From a simulation, case scenario based orientation process with preceptor support to complex interdisciplinary educational programs, the nurse educators work extensively to bring programs to the nursing staff that integrate the most recent research and proven clinical techniques into the pediatric work environment
